Where: Newark, NJ
When: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Email registration (RSVP required): LCFS@nescaum.org by Friday, October 9. To RSVP, please send your contact information (name, organization, email, phone number). Due to building security requirements, you must RSVP if you plan to attend (please note that you will also need government-issued photo ID to access the buildings).
Low Carbon Fuel Standard (LCFS) public meeting (note registration deadline is next week). On Thursday, October 22, in Boston, MA and on Tuesday, October 27, in Newark, NJ, public meetings on a potential Northeast/Mid-Atlantic Low Carbon Fuel Standard (LCFS) will be held. A LCFS is a performance-based standard that would limit the average carbon intensity of fuels using a lifecycle accounting method, which tracks emissions from all stages of fuel production and distribution. The goals of the Northeast/Mid-Atlantic LCFS are to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, encourage the development of low cost, low carbon fuel alternatives (e.g., fuels produced from sustainable biomass resources in the region), and promote innovation of advanced fuels and technologies. In addition to providing an overview of the LCFS program and a first look at key elements of the program framework under consideration, the meeting will also devote ample opportunity for feedback and discussion.
