Medium- & Heavy-Duty Electric Vehicle/Tech/Equipment Webinar Series – Webinar #1 'Avoiding Pitfalls: Planning Strategies & Solutions'

Date: July 22, 2021

Granite State, Vermont and Maine Clean Cities Coalitions are hosting the first in a webinar series highlighting medium- and heavy-duty electric vehicles, technology and equipment. This is geared toward public and private fleet and business managers, public works directors, and other decision makers. Jay Minkarah, Executive Director of the Nashua Regional Planning Commission in southern New Hampshire, speaks about the development of a working group to explore the electrification of school buses. Learn from Jay’s experience with establishing the working group (e.g., who to invite/engage in the discussion, initial discussion topics, obstacles and opportunities, etc.). These takeaways can be more broadly applied towards assembling a working group to plan for the electrification of the medium- and heavy-duty sector in your own community! Other topics investigated include 1) a unique battery storage proposal, 2) strategies to address electric utility demand charges, and 3) incorporating battery electric vehicle purchasing into a fleet procurement policy.
